Have a question?

It’s probably answered here…

How much does a Nak Muay Nation Training Camp cost?

It ranges depending on how long you choose to stay. For a full list of pricing options, click here.

What is the length of stay?

There are 2-week, 4-week and 8-weeks options available for most camps.

What is included in the price?

  • 2x training sessions a day which include 3-5 rounds of pad work with a trainer.
  • Accommodation (Hotel room with a queen size bed, AC and other amenities)
  • Opportunities to meet top Thai fighters like Saenchai, Kaew Fairtex and others.
  • Tickets to either Lumpinee or Rajadamanern stadium to watch Muay Thai fights.
  • A guided day tour around Bangkok to check out tourist attractions on your off day

What is NOT included in the price?

  • Airfare
  • Food
  • Laundry
  • Transportation
  • Other miscellaneous expenses

Where will I be staying?

At the Kiatthada Resort right by the gym.

What are the food options? How much will it cost to eat per day?

Food is cheap in Thailand (especially the Thai food) and ranges from 50-150 baht per meal. If you wanted western food (more expensive) it would be between 200-400 baht. There are plenty of food stalls surrounding the gym and a nice western cafe/restaurant as well. You can also grab a 5 minute taxi ride to supermarkets to buy groceries and other snacks to munch on throughout the day.

Do I have to fight/Can I fight while at the camp?

Fighting is not mandatory by any means, but there will be plenty of opportunities to fight it you would like to step in the ring. If you choose to fight there are local promotions that will match you up fairly based on your experience level and weight. Promotions for amateurs include MBK Fight Night and Muay Thai Live. For more advanced fighters there are opportunities to fight on Max Muay Thai, Buakaw’s promotion and even Lumpinee stadium.

What is a typical day of training like?

It depends on the day, but generally speaking it will look something like this (click to see)

I’m a beginner, can I join?

Generally speaking, this camp is not for beginners. That being said, there are exceptions made to those who are willing to prepare for the camp and work hard while they are there. Show a good attitude and a willingness to learn and we would be happy to have you a part of the group. However, you should have a decent grasp of the basics (stance, punches, kicks etc.).

How do I become a sponsored fighter?

For each 1-month training camp we will be giving away a 1-month sponsorship (free stay and free training) to one person who shows the most heart, dedication, consistency and improvement. Voting will take place throughout the group to decide the winner.

Kate Sholy won the first sponsorship (watch her video here).

What else is there to do near the gym/hotel?

On off days people like to do a variety of things:

  • Get massages or relax at a nearby pool/sauna.
  • Check out temples, night markets and other tourist attractions.
  • Go gear shopping at a Muay Thai shop.
  • Go clubbing and experience the Bangkok nightlife.

Within walking distance there are massage parlors, small restaurants/food stalls/markets, convenient stores, pharmacies and most of what you need. There are also shopping malls within 5-10 minutes taxi ride and hotel spas/pools/bathhouses about the same distance.

What do I do if I get sick/injured?

Adequate travel insurance is crucial to insuring you have a safe trip. It is up to you to make sure you’re covered for the activities involved and to find to proper insurance for your stay.

Pharmacies have a lot of stuff over the counter that you can get. And in terms of injuries, we will make sure you get quality attention.

Do I need any vaccinations?

We highly recommend you speak to your doctor to see if you need any shots. They’ll have all the up to date information on any pills you may need or vaccinations you might want to consider. Getting them is time consuming, so leave at least 6 weeks to be safe.

Do I need a visa?

Visa type and length will depend varying on your nationality/passport. Therefore it is up to you to make sure you have researched and arranged the appropriate visa before travel. This is particularly important for longer training camps as you may need to extend or do a ‘visa run’ to accommodate it.

How do I get around the area?

Taxis are super cheap and they are everywhere. You can get to most places for between 50 – 200 baht. And if you split it with 2-4 other people, it becomes even cheaper.
